October 2020: new Edmond J. Safra affiliate: Dr. Yoav Ram

Dr. Yoav Ram is a new faculty member at the School of Zoology, Faculty of Life Sciences. He  is joining the Edmond J. Safra Center as an Affiliate.

Yoav earned a BSc in Mathematics and Biology, followed by a PhD in Theoretical Biology, both from TAU. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University and a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science at IDC Herzliya.

The Ram lab studies evolutionary biology, ecology, behavior, and cultural evolution using computational, mathematical, and statistical models in collaboration with experimental biologists. Current research interests include competition and cooperation in populations and communities; the evolution of the variation-producing mechanisms like mutation, sex, and learning; and application of Bayesian inference and Deep Learning to population biology data.
