TAD, the Edmond J. Safra Center for Bioinformatics, and Teva - Joint Grants Call
Call for Research Proposals in AI/Computational Neuroscience, and Iron Swords Support
The Center for AI and Data Science at Tel Aviv University (TAD), the Edmond J. Safra Center for Bioinformatics, and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (“Teva”) are launching a call for 4-5 two-year research grants in the field of AI, neuroscience, and Iron Swords support. Each grant will provide up to 120,000 NIS, per year, for two years, supporting the integration of big data analysis, bioinformatics, and AI with translational applications. Second year funding contingent on the evaluation of an interim report.
We encourage submissions in Computational/AI across two domains of interest:
- AI/Computational Neuroscience
- Psychiatric disorders: schizophrenia, bipolar, major and resistant depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Neurodegeneration/neuroinflammation: Parkinson's disease and other synucleinopaties (Multiple System Atrophy, Dementia with Lewy Bodiesetc.), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Huntington’s Disease
- Rare neurological disorders
- AI/Computational Iron Swords support
- Impact of the Iron Swords war on mental health, trauma, and stress
- Iron Swords support: rehabilitation, wellness, therapeutic interventions
The grants aim to support collaborative efforts among computational researchers and clinicians affiliated with TAU. We encourage the submission of high-risk/high-reward proposals with the potential to drive significant breakthroughs or major advancements in the topics of interest defined above. The proposed research should include a testable hypothesis grounded in a strong scientific rationale and serve as a catalyst to expand or modify current thinking and/or approaches. Note that purely clinical proposals, such as intervention studies, clinical trials, or health care delivery research, as well as predominantly clinical projects will not be considered. Similarly, basic research without a clear clinical trajectory, such as projects lacking translational potential within 5 years from grant completion, will not be considered as well.
