July 2026: Schweiger awarded Alon Scholarship

Congratulations to Dr. Regev Schweiger, Edmond J. Safra member (Medical & Health Sciences and Computer Science & AI), who was awarded the prestigious Alon Scholarship for excellence in scientific research. The award was granted through a competitive national competition for outstanding young faculty members.

The Alon Scholarship Program, administered by the Planning and Budgeting Committee (PBC) of Israel's Council for Higher Education, supports exceptional early-career researchers across a broad range of disciplines. Each year, only 25 scholarships are awarded nationwide in the fields of humanities, social sciences, life sciences, exact sciences, and engineering.

Dr. Regev Schweiger is a faculty member in the Department of Human Genetics and Computational Medicine at the Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, and has a secondary affiliation in the Blavatnik School of Computer Science and AI. Dr. Regev's research interests are in computational and population genetics, aiming to uncover the processes that shape genetic variation, from deep evolutionary history to molecular mechanisms.
