July 2026: Eight Edmond J. Safra researchers awarded ISF grants

Congratulations to eight members and affiliates of the Edmond J. Safra Center who have been awarded research grants from the Israel Science Foundation (ISF) as part of the 2026-2027 funding cycle.

The recipients are Prof. Karen Avraham (Medical & Health Sciences), Prof. Nir Ben-Tal (Life Sciences), Prof. Yuval Ebenstein (Chemistry), Prof. Avigdor Eldar (Life Sciences), Prof. Irit Gat-Viks (Life Sciences), Prof. Itay Mayrose (Life Sciences), Prof. Tal Pupko (Life Sciences), and Prof. Adi Stern (Life Sciences).

Prof. Yuval Ebenstein, Prof. Irit Gat-Viks, and Prof. Itay Mayrose each received a personal research grant, as well as an additional equipment grant, providing enhanced support for their research programs and scientific infrastructure.

Prof. Karen Avraham was awarded a research grant through the ISF Biomedical Research Track, in collaboration with Prof. Nidal Mohanna and Dr. Shahar Taiber of Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov).

The ISF is Israel’s leading agency for the support of competitive basic research across all scientific disciplines. ISF funding is awarded on the basis of scientific excellence through a rigorous peer-review process, supporting research and advancing knowledge across a broad range of fields.
