Prof. Yariv Wine received his PhD from Tel Aviv University, where he investigated various aspects of protein-protein interactions using structural and computational methods, with the goal of designing novel composite materials for applications in nanobiotechnology. He continued this line of research during his first postdoctoral fellowship in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at Tel Aviv University, further developing bio-composite systems.

Subsequently, Prof. Wine transitioned into the field of applied immunology during a second postdoctoral fellowship in the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Working in the laboratory of Prof. George Georgiou, he developed an innovative, integrated platform that combined next-generation sequencing (NGS), high-resolution antibody proteomics (Ig-Seq), and computational tools to deconvolute the complex polyclonal antibody repertoire in response to disease or vaccination.

In October 2015, Prof. Wine established the Laboratory for Applied Immunology at Tel Aviv University. His current research spans both fundamental and translational immunology, focusing on areas such as vaccine evaluation, immunodiagnostic development, and the discovery and engineering of monoclonal antibodies. By integrating experimental and computational approaches across disciplines, his lab aims to deepen our understanding of immune mechanisms while developing practical solutions to urgent biomedical challenges.
