Prof. Noam Shomron, Edmond J. Safra Center member (Medicine) and Chair of the Salon organizing committee, introduced the speaker, Yotam Drechsler, CEO & Co-founder, BrainQ Technologies.
Yotam Drechsler gave an exciting talk titled " Developing a precision medicine therapy to treat stroke: At the forefront of neuroscience, machine learning, and cloud technology ". He presented the challenge of improving the state of stroke patients, and the approach of BrainQ, which combines dense repeated EEG measurements, machine learning for data analysis, network modeling of the brain in order to tailor a low frequency electromagnetic field to treat the patient. He showed significant improvements obtained in a small pilot study. The talk was followed by a Q&A session.
The Salon series, an initiative of the Center that was launched last year, is a forum to promote entrepreneurship at the convergence of biology, medicine, and computing. It aims to create a meeting, interaction and networking forum for academics, industry, entrepreneurs and venture capitalists interested in joining together biology, medicine and computing. The series is a collaboration with the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School and the BIES series.
