June 2020:  A. Rubinstein helps propel ultra-orthodox women into high tech

Dr. Amir Rubinstein, Edmond J. Safra affiliate, is an academic advisor in the Adva program for ultra-orthodox women.  

 

The Adva program, an initiative of the Start-Up Nation Foundation, aims to teach ultra-orthodox young women university-level mathematics and computer science, with a syllabus developed jointly by tech firms and university professors.

The goal is to produce a crop of software engineers who will bring much-needed income into the ultra-orthodox community.  Adva program asked TAU and Hebrew university professors to prepare a tailor-made curriculum for these students.

Dr. Rubinstein is academic facilitator of the program, academic advisor of the courses "Data structures" and "Introduction to Computer science with Python", helps in writing and grading exams and in generally setting the standards.
