May 2019: Sheba-TAU microbiome analysis workshop

The Sheba-TAU microbiome analysis workshop took place on May 16 2019 at the Sheba Medical Center Cancer Institute, with support from the Edmond J. Safra Center.

25 researchers from Sheba Hospital, TAU, Bar Ilan University, Volcani Institute, Hebrew University, and other institutes participated in it. The workshop began with talks about best practices and tools for microbiome data analysis, and tutorials by the developers of several such tools.

The second half of the workshop included a “sandbox” session led by Center member and fellow Prof. Elhanan Borenstein (Med School and CS School). Through the sandbox portal of Borenstein's Lab, participants downloaded and installed the various tools, obtained sample datasets, and followed detailed walkthroughs for each tool.
