January 2021: Ben-David: Cancer cells study published in Nature

A new study, led by Dr. Uri Ben-David, Edmond J. Safra affiliate (Medicine), shows for the first time how an abnormal number of chromosomes (aneuploidy) - a unique feature of cancer cells - makes these cells more sensitive and unstable, and their long term proliferation is jeopardized. The study could lead to the development of future drugs that will use this vulnerability to eliminate the cancer cells, and it has important implications for the drug discovery process in personalized cancer medicine.

The study, published in the prestigious journal Nature, was conducted in Dr. Ben-David's lab in collaboration with Dr. Zuzna Storkova (Kaiserslautern University of Technology, Germany), Dr. Jason Stampf (University of Vermont, USA), Dr. Stefano Santaguida (University of Milan, Italy), and Dr. Todd Golub (Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, USA).
