May 2019: Honorable mention to Schnitzer and Shami for a project in CS
A competition of students research projects took place on May 23, 2019 in the School of Computer Science (CS).
A competition of students research projects took place on May 23, 2019 in the School of Computer Science (CS). Ten teams reached the final stage, and the students who developed the projects presented them and answered the judges questions. The judges were CS faculty members and representatives from Microsoft, Check Point, Facebook and IBM.
Three projects won prizes, and two other were awarded an honorable mention. One of the latter was awarded to Ofek Schnitzer and Kamie Shami, BSc students in the bioinformatics program, for their project titled "Predicting cancer sensitivities". The project was done under the supervision of Prof. Roded Sharan, Edmond J. Safra member.
