June 2023: Gophna elected to EMBO
Congratulations to Prof. Uri Gophna, Edmond J. Safra member, who was elected as a member of the European Molecular Biology Organization.
Prof. Uri Gophna, Edmond J. Safra member (Life Sciences) was elected as a member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO), and will officially join the organization in a ceremony to be held as part of the organization's annual conference at the end of October 2023.
EMBO has more than 1,900 of the world's leading molecular biology researchers. The new members are proposed and elected by existing members, and are involved in initiatives of the organization's board, serve on committees, distribute scholarships and mentor young scientists. The prestigious organization was founded in 1964, publishes five academic journals and holds more than 90 conferences annually.
Prof. Gophna joins Edmond J. Safra PIs, Profs. Gil Ast, Karen Avraham, Judith Berman, Oded Rechavi, and Yossi Shiloh, who are EMBO members.
