July 2023: Seven Edmond J. Safra researchers awarded ISF grants

Edmond J. Safra members and affiliates Profs. Gil Ast (Medicine), Dan Halperin (Computer Science), Martin Kupiec (Life Sciences), and Drs. David Burstein (Life Sciences), Merav Cohen (Medicine), Yaara Oren, (Medicine) and Aldema Sas-Chen (Life Sciences) - were all awarded research grants from the Israel Science Foundation (ISF) in the 2023-2024 grants cycle.

 

Dr. Yaara Oren and Dr. Aldema Sas-Chen also won an equipment grant for a new faculty member.

 

Prof. Martin Kupiec won the prestigious ISF grant for "Groundbreaking research" – a grant program for exceptionally innovative proposals, aiming to advance ambitious basic research with significant potential impact.

 

The ISF is the main body supporting basic science research in Israel, through a wide variety of funding mechanisms and in a variety of fields of knowledge. The support is based on scientific excellence.
