Sharon Sorin, BSc student in Bioinformatics at TAU, developed AI study program for children.
Sharon Sorin, BSc student in Bioinformatics at TAU, has published the first programming book in Hebrew "How computers think". Following this successful book, Prof. Oren Kurland of the Technion, who was looking for someone experienced in making technological knowledge accessible to children, approached Sharon, and suggested that she will develop a program explaining the algorithms and mathematics of AI in a way that teenagers can understand.
Sharon and Prof. Kurland, in collaboration with twenty AI experts from Google Israel, founded the "Buds of Wisdom" – a program that aims to explain to children not only what AI is and how AI tools are used, but also the mathematics behind AI algorithms. Sharon, who is finishing the third year of her degree studies, is currently managing the program as a Google employee, and will also lead the content writing in all of Google Israel's AI education projects.
