Abstract: Methods that impute gene expression using genotype data are useful for identifying complex genotype-phenotype associations and as alternatives to genome wide association studies. In my talk, I will discuss two of my recent works that leverage this methodology to 1) bridge population with regard to drug response; and 2) to identify variations in transcription factors that affect transcription.

Short bio: Dr. Gottlieb is an Assistant professor at the School of Biomedical Informatics and one of the core faculty members of the Center for Precision Health. He is interested in understanding and modeling drug mode of action and its relation to pharmacogenomics, drug efficacy and adverse reaction. His lab uses an integrative computational approach, combining multiple data types and applying systems medicine, machine learning and causal inference methodologies to identify population and patient-level factors associated with drug efficacy and adverse reactions and to suggest candidates for drug repurposing. Additionally, his research leverages electronic health records for hypothesis generation and validation of therapeutic outcomes.
