August 2024: Benjamini and colleagues win the Rousseeuw Prize for Statistics

Prof. Yoav Benjamini, Edmond J. Safra member, Prof. Daniel Yekutieli, and Prof. Ruth Heller (Statistics) won the prestigious 2024 Rousseeuw Prize for Statistics, for their pioneering work on False Discovery Rate (FDR).
The Rousseeuw Prize for Statistics awards innovations in statistical research with impact on society. This prize is awarded in even years, and includes a medal, a certificate, and a monetary reward of $1,000,000, similar to the Nobel Prize in other disciplines. The home institution of the prize, initiated two years ago, is the King Baudouin Foundation in Belgium, which appoints the international jury and carries out the selection procedure.
